Moreover, he is also a known author for various popular biology textbooks. For the last four years, his contribution in molecular diagnosis of viral diseases such as SARS-CoV-2 has been part of his scientific journey and recognized at the national level. Mairaj Ahmed Ansari, PhD is currently working as Assistant Professor at Department of Biotechnology, and Deputy Director, Centre for Virology at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. He has over two decades of research experience and published more than 35 peer-reviewed research articles in the area of vaccines, virology, and infection biology. He is also running a successful Master’s Degree in Medical Virology course at the University. In the past he has worked on development of vaccine candidates against intracellular pathogens like M. tuberculosis and L. monocytogenes. He also studied mechanism and signaling of innate immunity and its evasion, virus entry and DNA-Damage-Response (DDR), Virus-latency and -lytic cycle maintenance of herpesviruses. He is serving as editorial board member in Springer Nature Virology and various other journals. His eminent work on molecular and clinical virology and exploration of newer paradigms such as exosome-based diagnostics and biomarker discovery has been recent thrust areas.
