His research interests include archaeological computing, landscape and field archaeology, archaeological method and theory. His current research is focused on the development of advanced computational methods for analysing the perceptual experience of a past landscape.Eleanor Betts is Lecturer in Classical Studies at The Open University. Her research explores Roman urbanism and religion in Roman and Iron Age Italy (Picenum), underpinned by sensory studies. She develops and applies multisensory approaches to understand people's construction, experience and use of urban and ritual space and landscapes.
